Our airbnb in Prague is a ten-minute tram ride from the city center (it's in one of the green buildings). I love being forced to figure out a city's transportation system, and Prague's is complex. But we learned to take the 7 tram and transfer to the 17 - and in Stina's words - we kicked this city's ass. You buy passes and ride on the honor system...if you're caught without one, you get escorted off and fined.
Because I've had the worst jet lag of all time on this trip, I haven't slept for more than four consecutive hours since saturday. But was determined to see everything while Stina was here. So after I saw her to the train this morning, I slept all day. Not wanting to tram it to the center for dinner, I stayed local and found this vietnamese restaurant two blocks from the apartment.
The owner was from Hanoi, and you could tell by his northern menu...la lot leaves above, bun cha below. Superior food! This is why I love airbnb - it allows you to experience nieghborhoods.
This is "The Dancing g Building," designed by Frank Gehry...yep, of the EMP.
Decided to stay in Prague for two more days before heading to Budapest. Booked a budget hotel, which has now been upgraded to a 4 star hotel - their mistake, same price. So I will leave the airbnb track for a bit...

Were you able to "talk shop" with the guy from Hanoi at all?
ReplyDeleteI love the dancing building!
Yes, but it wasn't a strong shop talk since he was from Hanoi, the inferior city!
