Omaha Beach, where Allied forces landed on June 6, 1944. Over 9000 American servicemen died near here, over 2000 died on this beach on that day. Over a four mile stretch of beach, the operation included five zones for landing...the only other one I can remember is "Utah."

Wow. I bet that was powerful to stand on that beach.
